Wondering what I’m going to be.
So I just smoked a bowl, and now I’m thinking - yo, what are you going to do with your life? What career path are you going to follow?
That freaked me the fuck out.
Graphic design - I did rack up $30,000 in student loan debt from getting a degree in this damn field, so you’d think I would have had the best education right? Well, you’re half wrong. It was a good time but all I know is graphic design. Nobody told me when you are out looking for jobs at design firms, they need you to know flash & web & css as well, and quark and all these other programs I’ve never heard of. All of those could be split up in different fields for which one needs a diploma in each.
It’s discouraging, to say the least. Then I think, I really love music. Maybe I should get back into playing guitar, and take more time to learn to play mandolin correctly, etc. and see where that takes me. Busking? I dunno. I also love animals, and would love to work at an animal shelter but I don’t think they employ people who don’t have some kind of training or schooling in animal studies.
Montreal will hopefully give me opportunities to work at different jobs and try things out. I need the experience because I don’t want to work at American Eagle for the rest of my life. No thank you.
